at juniper forest we settle
by Calista Dirdja
I
dreamt of a house
amongst the pine woods.
On a balcony, we soaked in the view.
A gentle sunshine through the trees,
a komorebi to see.
Your
hand fit around my waist.
The petrichor enticed us
with her musty scents.
It’s tea time, rib-eye steak,
and mashed potato.
In the west sky, there’s a rainbow.
We had a fascinating talk,
a dumb conversation,
and once or two times inquired
some provocative questions.
We
cast away the mundane
till our sweet fondness soared
into the air.
